We continue to travel further into the realm of digital design! While hanging out with our next guest Ana Labudović, designer of a younger generation, we will find out more about what happens when design merges with contemporary art, hacking and transforming of technology, performance art, electronic music, social activism and other activities adored by young and the old alike.
Ana’s creative course so far reveals that she’s a versatile author who does a lot of self-initiated work besides client-related stuff, covering a broad scope of activities, from user interface & experience design, disassembling and building machines to curating and writing. If you haven’t been familiar with her work until now, we believe you’ll remember Ana Labudović after this event.
Ana Labudović was born in 1983 in Zagreb and she currently resides online. Upon finishing Hyper Island School of New Media (Sweden) she interned at studio Vasava Artworks (Spain), having lived the next few years in Barcelona. Afterwards she worked as a freelance designer and book editor for maomao Publications which published two of her books on graphic design ― Color in Graphics (with Rose Sairica, 2008.) and Field Guide (How to Be a Graphic Designer) (with Nenad Vukušić, 2009.). Nowadays she runs a small design studio focusing mostly on digital production within the culture and civil domain.
Preserving and promoting the legacy of the notable Croatian minimalist sculptor and painter Branko Vlahović (1924.―1929.) has been her passion for the last seven years. Fascinated by the human relationship with technology, networks, privacy, nature and society, Ana ocassionaly plays with interaction design along with fellow members of Radiona hackLab & makerSpace. Her work was shown at various group exhibitions: Exhibition of Croatian design, Zgraf, Secção de Multimadeira, Core Membranes, Abandon Normal Devices, Science Fiction etc.
Design Dialogues are coordinated and hosted by designer and writer Bojan Krištofić, member of CDSS team. As a sales and exhibition space intended for products and concepts of domestic designers, CDSS initiates their gathering, networking and market promotion, while the audience gets a chance to meet the designers and get informed through casual and direct get-together. See you!
