The Impact Hub in the ‘Little Vatican’ is the Zagreb branch office of the international network of coworking spaces, which in addition to affordable conditions for independent work or teamwork offers a series of programmes and services.

In the last several years, the coworking culture is spreading like a wildfire in Croatia. The increase in the number of self-employed freelance workers, precarious work conditions, and technological standards that allow flexible workplaces and working hours… all of these conditions have enabled freelancers and small business to self-organize in a local environment, gathering in several associations and initiatives, such as, for example, Coworking Croatia and the Croatian Society of Independent Professionals. Impact Hub is the international supplement to this story. A global network of coworking spaces that, in addition to the essential conditions for independent work or teamwork, offers its members the possibility to participate in various training programmes aimed at advancing their current and future projects, as well as on-going programmes dedicated to topics of significance for the local community.

The Impact Hub in the ‘Little Vatican’ is Zagreb’s branch office of this international initiative. Everyone is invited to join, and members are provided with a workspace at an affordable lease, including wireless Internet, daily supplies of coffee and tea, a telephone booth for private conversations, printing and copying, a fully equipped kitchen, etc. In addition, the management of the Impact Hub provides a safe environment for the growth and development of projects significant for the local and wider community, in the fields of culture, technology, science, management and other disciplines that can improve the standard of living of the locals of Zagreb and its surroundings.

Atelier Ostrman

One of the more interesting locations in Lopašićeva Street is the art studio of the painter Tomislav Ostrman, Atelier Ostrman, where he exhibits and sells his own pieces and those of his colleagues and friends, alongside organizing small social events in this attractive workshop.

Garderoba Concept Store

With the opening of Ana Ivančić’s Garderoba, Zagreb got its first conceptual showroom for Scandinavian fashion. Garderoba is a carefully thought-out project, a room whose elements have all been designed by brilliant Croatian designers and architects, thus also adding a Croatian brand to the offer.

Slatka priča

The Slatka Priča pastry shop was started in 2013, and is currently in three places – Kranjčevićeva Street, Ivana Brlić Mažuranić Street in Zagreb’s Malešnica neighborhood, and, of course, Martićeva Street (since 2016), more precisely at the busy corner of Martićeva and Smičiklasova.

Mikrofon is a music school started in 2009, located in the charming inner courtyard of 19 Martićeva Street. Its predecessor was the Vocal Studio Maraton vocal workshop from Rijeka, and the school has since then grown from offering single singing lessons to group singing and lessons for children, as well as instrumental music lessons.

Medveščak Library

The Medveščak Library, our neighborhood’s branch of Zagreb City Libraries, encompasses three departments – adult, children’s and youth (also known as “Idi pa Vidi”, or “Come and See”). Besides normal library duties, the library also engages in setting up various exhibitions in its windows, and workshops in the rooms of the youth and children’s departments.
