Prostoria Showroom

Marker ikona

In its Zagreb showroom in Bauerova Street, Prostoria offers the majority of its products in a pleasant atmosphere created by a recognizable design.

Earlier known under the name Kvadra, the company Prostoria is the central regional manufacturer of furniture, along with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian company Artisan. Established in 2010 in the Zagorje town of Sv. Križ Začretje, in only six years Prostoria has evolved from a small factory of upholstered furniture to a respectable, globally relevant company present on the markets of Europe, Central and North America, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East and Far East, and even Australia and Oceania. Headquartered in Zagorje, with stores in Zagreb and Belgrade and a branch office in Vienna (since 2014), and with a continuous presence on the majority of the world’s furniture trade shows, Prostoria has created a wide distribution network that has allowed the market placement of domestic design in all corners of the world.

A major part of these accomplishments is most certainly based on the productive cooperation between the founder of the company Tomislav Knezović and his team of designers. The team includes the Numen/For Use collective (Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler and Nikola Radeljković), Grupa (Filip Despot, Ivan of Pavić and Tihana Taraba), Ivana Borovnjak and Roberta Bratović, Sanja Knezović, Redesign (Sanja and Neven Kovačić), Dva plus (Judita and Damir Ljutić), Böttcher Henssler Kayser and Simon Morasi Piperčić — all renowned names of the regional and European scene, whose work for Prostoria has received multiple recognitions.

Atelier Ostrman

One of the more interesting locations in Lopašićeva Street is the art studio of the painter Tomislav Ostrman, Atelier Ostrman, where he exhibits and sells his own pieces and those of his colleagues and friends, alongside organizing small social events in this attractive workshop.

Garderoba Concept Store

With the opening of Ana Ivančić’s Garderoba, Zagreb got its first conceptual showroom for Scandinavian fashion. Garderoba is a carefully thought-out project, a room whose elements have all been designed by brilliant Croatian designers and architects, thus also adding a Croatian brand to the offer.

Slatka priča

The Slatka Priča pastry shop was started in 2013, and is currently in three places – Kranjčevićeva Street, Ivana Brlić Mažuranić Street in Zagreb’s Malešnica neighborhood, and, of course, Martićeva Street (since 2016), more precisely at the busy corner of Martićeva and Smičiklasova.

Mikrofon is a music school started in 2009, located in the charming inner courtyard of 19 Martićeva Street. Its predecessor was the Vocal Studio Maraton vocal workshop from Rijeka, and the school has since then grown from offering single singing lessons to group singing and lessons for children, as well as instrumental music lessons.

Medveščak Library

The Medveščak Library, our neighborhood’s branch of Zagreb City Libraries, encompasses three departments – adult, children’s and youth (also known as “Idi pa Vidi”, or “Come and See”). Besides normal library duties, the library also engages in setting up various exhibitions in its windows, and workshops in the rooms of the youth and children’s departments.
