One of the best known, and judging by many, also the best pizza parlour in Zagreb, Karijola, occupies two locations in the Croatian capital ― at the intersection of Badalićeva and Kranjčevićeva streets in Trešnjevka neighbourhood, and on the very edge of the Design District, in the ever more popular doorway of 63 Vlaška street. The third Karijola opened neither more nor less than on the island of Vis.
The Karijola in Vlaška street, which shares the backyard with Mali Bar, Vintesa wine shop and Design Hostel 63, also includes a wine bar with select wines, but its primary attraction is its truly delicious pizza. As opposed to most fast, ready-made pizza parlours, Karijola offers only one size and a rather narrow selection of pizzas, with several seasonal varieties (like the great asparagus pizza), which is always a good sign for a pizza parlour. Always fresh ingredients plus appropriate, thin crust, and an excellent pizza is ready!
