The design office of OPA (Planning and Architecture Organization) is an extension of the successful work of the bureau Arhitektura Matković.
Since its establishment, many wholesome projects for different purposes have been created in the office, and the design team has also realized many external collaborations. Generally, OPA regularly cooperates with experts from other fields, which provides the bureau with a continuous offer of detailed and coordinated project documentation. Today the office has six employees — apart from the founder Tihomil Matković, the team is comprised of Barbara Maštruko, Irena Paić-Majdić, Sonja Manestar, Matej Raič and Mislav Bobić.
Tihomil Matković was born in Zagreb in 1971. After graduating from MIOC high school (today’s XV Gymnasium) in 1990, he attended the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Zagreb, from which he graduated in 1996. He receieved the Rector’s award in 1993. He is a member of the Croatian Chamber of Architects, and from the period from 2009 to 2011 he was a part of the executive board of the Association of Architects Zagreb, as well as of the legislation board of the Croatian Chamber of Architects. During the academic year 2008/2009 he was a guest critic at the Faculty of Architecture at the Department of Architectural Designs Studio 1. He has been awarded the Drago Galić award by the Croatian Architects Association for most successful accomplishment in the area of residential architecture in 2005.
